NEW

New season filled with musical presence.

The ensemble is now on summer vacation, and the music has faded, but a rich program awaits in August - starting with a world premiere on August 1nd.

So what do we have in our catalog for next season?

I'm preparing it here in the office, now that the concert hall is quiet for a while.

I can try to divide the season into headings according to who the concerts are aimed at:

Bringing music closer to the audience:

  1. Festival, gala concerts, New Year's concerts, community singing concerts
  2. Cross-cultural formats: Author concerts, Music at the Museum, etc.

In the ensemble, we have a great idea that more people can enjoy live music experiences if we serve it in a relevant way to new listeners. And seasoned music lovers are of course also welcome :-)

Would you like to experience one of this year's New Year's concerts with the exuberant young singing couple, baritone Asmus Hanke Frederiksen and soprano Emilie Haaning Christensen? A true musical fireworks display.

Or our popular author concerts, which this autumn is with Kim Fupz Aakeson, who has just won the DR Novel Prize, or with the award-winning South African poet Deborah Levy at Verdenslitteratur on Møn? You don't have to have read the books first, but you'll probably want to afterwards!

Our Spring festivals are musical lighthouses where we zoom in on one of our contributing municipalities. In March I look forward to returning to the Spring Festival in Næstved with the title “Light and Shadow”.

There is also our community singing concerts. With Sangkraft Guldborgsund continuously throughout the year, and then on May 4th at Pederstrup on Lolland on the occasion of the liberation. It is still a day that brings people together.

Music at the Museum on the last Thursday of each month on Fuglsang Art museum! It's something the musicians love to play, half an hour of music with what they are passionate about and which often speaks to the themes of the exhibitions.

Classical chamber music in step with the times:

  1. Four seasonal concert programs, tours and recordings
  2. Cross-over and collaboration with the rest of the music scene

Our seasonal concerts, it is chamber music in its purest form, great music conveyed vividly by the ensemble's musicians. In the next season, the concerts have these titles, which can be heard in chamber music associations, in churches, and in the forest (!).

  1. “Scenes from the Forest” September 26
  2. "Swan Song" November 26
  3. "La Mattina" February 2027
  4. "Light and Shadow" April 2027 Highlights from the Spring Festival on tour around the country.

Our nature-recording will be released on Dacapo sometime this spring with no less than 5 new works of important living composers.

We are participating in the performance of Britten's work War Requiem together with Copenhagen Phil, 5 choirs with 120 singers and 5 soloists. It will be big, and it is a work that speaks to the problems of our time. Maribo Cathedral and Copenhagen.

We resume our cross-over concerts with Syrian-born oud player Bilal Irshed in the upcoming season, and has workshops with his Silk Road Orchestra, which mixes Arabic and European music.

Outreach:

  1. Children and young people: School concerts, Understrømmen, Young Players Classic etc.
  2. Music for ordinary citizens

We are passionate about children and young people's encounters with classical music, and about giving them the opportunity to try their hand at it. It's so important!

This year we have, among other things: Halloween concerts for 600 school children who dress up and sing spooky songs with Ulla-Britt Simonsen. And kindergarten children can either experience the fun concert “Næssis Leg” or sing with the ensemble – everything they can at big concerts in the Monastery Church.

I can't mention all the activities we do for children and young people here, but that's over half of the year's activities!

For Christmas, we're keeping with tradition nursing home and play Christmas melodies, and we try to get around and create a little joy and courage when a couple of musicians play on the hospital corridors for example.

Musical presence locally:

  1. Special local events and initiatives

We think it's fun to play in when big local events happen. Most recently we had a new one written fanfare at the inauguration of the Storstrømsbroen Bridge, where the ensemble played while the 10.000 runners started running. We are currently participating in a sound walk along the new hiking route on Køsten from Gedser to Hesnæs, and we are open to what the new season brings in terms of anniversaries where we can invite you with music.

Welcome and have a nice summer!
