Young Player Classic competition

Unge spiller klassik (USK) is a competition for children and young people aged up to and including 20 years, where we collaborate with the music and culture schools in the Zealand region and on Bornholm, which organize the competition.

Danish Chamber Players is part of the judging panel and partly because the main prize, which goes to 6-7 children each year, is to be a soloist with Danish Chamber Players at concerts around the region.

Evaluation
A panel of professional musicians is in charge of the assessment. Musicians from Danish Chamber Players are consistently judges. The judges nominate a number of participants who are offered to participate in winning concerts with Danish Chamber Players.
All participants receive a written statement from the judges with praise and good advice, a diploma and lunch. Participants are placed with a 1st, 2nd or 3rd prize by the judges. If you do not want to get a ranking, but just the statement, you will be notified shortly before the competition days.

Learning Objectives

What do the participants say?

Josephine Franyó, group D: “I am very happy to be selected to play with Danish Chamber Players. It is incredibly fun and educational to play with a professional ensemble and be allowed to work side by side with such talented musicians".

Julie Pedersen, group A: "The fun is to stand and play in front of the referees and get their comments. The good thing is to get prizes handed out and the coolest thing is to get a group photo taken. When I was told that I was going on tour, I was so happy inside !! I'm a little nervous too. It's wild that I have to go ”.
