When the forest turns to music
Danish Chamber Players play "Scenes from the Forest" in Skovens Hus Corselitze
As autumn descends over the Corselitze forests, the Danish Chamber Players invite you for the first time to a concert in The Forest House. Under the title "Scenes from the Forest" Music, nature and cultural history come together in a concert where the moods and sounds of the forest find their way into the music.
Seven musicians from the Danish Chamber Players have put together the program, including "Tågen Letter" by Carl Nielsen, a charming French harp quintet and the community song Now the forest is fadingThe French composer Mel Bonis creates dreamy nature images in his work called “Scenes from the Forest” for flute, harp and bassoon, while Per Nørgård’s Lark song brings the voices of the birds into the concert.
The forest is not only an inspiration for the music, but also a part of the concert experience. The Forest House is located in the middle of the Corselitze forests and is housed in an old horse stable from 1780 on the Corselitze Estate. Here, the audience can experience a collection of historical forestry tools and gain an insight into forestry and the working lives of foresters before mechanization changed forestry.
"Scenes from the Forest" is a concert where music and surroundings merge – and where the audience is invited to experience the forest with both eyes and ears.
