For this concert we will let ourselves be enchanted by the magic of the flute with alluring works by Debussy, Jongen, Gaubert, Martinu and Roussel. From the forest god's dreams in a faun's afternoon to French pearls and seductive trios, the ensemble's flautist Svend Melbye will playfully guide us through the adventure. There are both 2 trios on the program, which start and end with works for the whole ensemble. Among other things. a completely new arrangement by the composer Erik Højsgaard of one of Albert Roussel's most famous works for flute, Joueurs de flûte (flute players). Here, each movement is named after a famous historical flute player: Pan, Tityre, Krishna and Monsieur de la Péjaudie. The last movement is dedicated to the flutist and composer Phillippe Gaubert, whose beautiful "madrigal" for flute and piano can also be heard at the concert.
